Vocabulary: Education.

1) Presentation: A speech or talk in which a new product, idea, or piece of work is shown and explained to an audience, here related to education.

2) Play truant: (of a pupil) stay away from school without leave or explanation.

3) Scholarship: A grant or payment made to support a student's education, awarded on the basis of academic or other achievement.

4) Semester:A half-year term in a school or university, especially in North America, typically lasting for fifteen to eighteen weeks.

5) Lesson: A thing learned or to be learned by a pupil.

6) Learn: Gain or acquire knowledge of or skill in (something) by study, experience, or being taught.

7) Classroom: A room in which a class of pupils or students is taught.

8) Desk: A piece of furniture with a flat or sloping surface and typically with drawers, at which one can read, write, or do other work.

9) Blackboard: A large board with a smooth dark surface attached to a wall or supported on an easel and used by teachers in schools for writing on with chalk.

10) Chalk: A substance (calcium sulphate) that is similar to chalk, made into white or coloured sticks for writing or drawing, especially on a blackboard.

11) Recess: A break between school classes.

12) Department: A division of a large organization such as a government, university, or business, dealing with a specific area of activity.

13) Dean: The head of a university faculty or department or of a medical school.

14) Classmate: A fellow member of a class at school, college, or university.

15) Knowledge: Facts, information, and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.

16) Notebook: A small book with blank or ruled pages for writing notes in, especially at school.

17) Faculty: A group of university departments concerned with a major division of knowledge.

18) Instructor: A person who teaches something.

19) Bachelor: A person who holds a first degree from a university or other academic institution (only in titles or set expressions)

20) Mentor: An experienced person in a company or educational institution who trains and counsels new employees or students.

21) Course: A series of lectures or lessons in a particular subject, leading to an examination or qualification.

22) Essay: A short piece of writing on a particular subject.

23) Thesis: A long essay or dissertation involving personal research, written by a candidate for a university degree.

24) Diploma: A certificate awarded by an educational establishment to show that someone has successfully completed a course of study.

25) Test: A short written or spoken examination of a person's proficiency or knowledge.

26) Maths: Mathematics.

27) Study: Devote time and attention to gaining knowledge of (an academic subject), especially by means of books.

28) Grade: A mark indicating the quality of a student's work.

29) Homework: Schoolwork that a pupil is required to do at home.

30) Students: People studying at a university or other place of higher education.

31) Project: A piece of research work undertaken by a school or college student.

32) Pass: Be successful in (an examination, test, or course)

33) University: A high-level educational institution in which students study for degrees and academic research is done.

34) Fail: Be unsuccessful in (an examination or interview)

35) History: A subject normally teach in schools regarding the study of past events, particularly in human affairs.

36) Examination: A formal test of a person's knowledge or proficiency in a subject or skill.

37) Discipline: A branch of knowledge, typically one studied in higher education.

38) Teachers: People who teach, normally in a high school.

39) Subject: A branch of knowledge studied or taught in a school, college, or university.

40) Degree: An academic rank conferred by a college or university after examination or after completion of a course, or conferred as an honour on a distinguished person.
